Butler Tray Hinges with square ends are used on tables or trays with folding leaves. These hinges are sturdy. They support narrow table-leaves in upright 90 degree position and flat 180 degree position. Leaf position is easily changed and stays in place once moved. Just gently push leaf into preferred position. They are priced and sold by the pair. When ordering 1, you receive 2 hinges.
In addition, butler tray hinges are now being used for keyboard trays on computer desks. Hinge allows drawer front to open flat for keyboard, when in use, and fold upright when not in use.
Butler-style coffee tables have four small half-round leaves, one on each side of table top. Each leaf requires one pair = 2 hinges. These hinges are sold by the pair. A total of 4 pairs of hinges is necessary to redo an entire table. See picture below.
