Dokra, locally known as “Bharai kaam”, is the art of sculpting brass with the ancient technique of wax casting. Practiced in West Bengal, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, this metal craft finds different forms of expressions, each art form uniquely different in style and manifestation from the others. Both styles, Gond and Dhokra are combined here into a base of utility, as simple as being a pen stand and a timepiece.
