For your consideration we are offering for sale this Gorgeous 1935 Parker Burgundy Mottled Celluloid Double Jewel Vacumatic Jr Fountain Pen in restored condition. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Clip, Gold Filled Two Ring Cap Banding and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel has excellent transparency with a person easily seeing through the barrel, albeit with mild ambering. The cap has the Feather Gold Filled Clip and the double cap bands displaying a wonderful gold filled color with no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to shine great again. The barrel is stamped with a clean imprint, "GEO S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA PATD with 1935 date code in the 4th quarter - NOTICE THE DATE CODE IS VERTICAL ON THIS BARREL, TYPICALLY THAT ARE HORIZONTAL". The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Junior Model that has a wider diameter cap and barrel than the standard juniors. It measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 5 13/16" posted.
The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 5 to 6 presses and it will fill full. This Vacumatic has the lock down filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacumatics. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works flawlessly.
The 14K Parker Vacumatic NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .63mm when measured with digital calipers. The NIB is the split arrow 14K Vacumatic that is in excellent condition and creates a very good writing experience. The writing sample provided in the image has a fine stroke that measures .46mm on the horizontal stroke and can flex to a broad / double broad stroke of roughly 1.20mm with medium pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue - Black Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Mottled Celluloid and would grade it in Excellent Condition with it boardering on near mint. The colors are gorgeous on this Parker - surely a treasured keepsake or thoughtful gift. This is collector worthy and the condition stands behind this gorgeous Parker. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
